David Ogilvy
I have seen trends come and go, but to me this tenet endures. Like Mr. Ogilvy I strongly believe that you cannot bore your customer into a relationship.

I have been lucky to work in a vast array of industries including food and beverage, healthcare, wellness, technology, power generation and distribution, manufacturing, outdoor lifestyle, entertainment, fashion, retail, commercial real estate development…and the International Space Station (I don’t know how to categorize that last one). I think this ladders up to an unusual depth of knowledge of different business structures, work processes and audiences which, along with intuition and creativity, informs the counsel I give to business and marketing leaders who are looking for more real-world experience and a different perspective.
I am most proud of the work I did with my partners at North to build an advertising powerhouse known for the craft of its strategic thinking, its insistence on close collaboration with clients and its uniquely differentiating and effective creative product. During its two decades in business, North served Columbia Sportswear, Hydro Flask, Clif Bar, Peet’s Coffee and Pacific Foods among many others.
